Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Heading structure across the website is not always hierarchical and in some places single headings are split over several heading elements which may cause confusion for some users. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A) and 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
- At higher levels of magnification the burger menu may clip other content and become harder to read. This fails WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow (AA).
- Images across the website do not have appropriate alt text. This should not significantly impact user experience as there are no context relevant images, only decorative elements. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content (A).
- For some pages at higher magnification the page heading will have contrast issues against the background image. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast Minimum (AA).
- Some of the links across the website are broken or not described correctly such as the social media links. This fails WCAG 2.4.4 Link Purpose (A).
- All pages share the same title in browser tabs. This fails WCAG 2.4.2 Page Titled (A).
- There is no way to skip past repeat navigation. This fails WCAG 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (A).
- On the Training, Research and Team pages, the Contact us button includes incorrect aria usage that does not affect user experience. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
- On the Contact form, the close button is just described as button. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
- On the contact form, screen reader users can move backwards to find address information which is presented before the contact form fields. This may not be apparent otherwise. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
- We are addressing all issues above and will be correcting these elements at our earliest opportunity.
- If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the 'Reporting accessibility problems with this website' section of this statement.
